The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will convene its Reef Fish Advisory Panel Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Council office – 2203 N. Lois Avenue, Suite 1100, in Tampa, Florida.
The Panel will review the recommendations of the Scientific and Statistical Committee and any Council actions related to the gag and greater amberjack stock assessments.
The Panel will also review possible management changes, such as size limits and season changes for greater amberjack, as well as possible bag limit and accountability measures for red grouper.
Also on the agenda are:
- an update on Joint South Florida Management options;
- a discussion of Marine Recreational Information Program (MRIP) methodology to monitor recreational landings;
- a review of the Southeast Data, Assessment, and Review (SEDAR) schedule, and;
- review and evaluate the role of the Reef Fish Advisory Panel.
Members were also invited to participate, in a non-voting capacity, in the Red Snapper Advisory Panel meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, 2014, also at the Council office.
